The Ultimate Stain Remover

“See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many” (Hebrews 12:15).

Andy came to us from North Carolina. A partner organization referred him to us. He was very anxious coming here, leaving all he knew for 32 weeks to live with 33 other men. He walked in looking completely lost. He was immediately hugged by another client which made him question where am I?

Andy was getting too comfortable; he was trying to fit in seeking acceptance from his peers but living behind a mask. He was going through the program with no issues and seemed to be growing in the Lord. But it was as if he was stuck. There was still something holding him back.

He soon became our Laundry Guy. He spent a lot of time in the laundry serving the other guys. Andy was cleaning those hard to rid of stains and during down time he was spending time in prayer and Bible reading. But still something was holding him back. There was a stain on his heart that he could not wash away.

But God!

One Sunday morning after receiving the message, God revealed to Andy what was holding him back. It was the root of bitterness and unforgiveness. He had been trying to get by, unwilling to let go of this hurt caused by his father and his ex-wife.

Before he even knew it, he was halfway down the aisle to surrender this root of unforgiveness to the Lord. Andy walked out feeling like a fresh load of laundry. He had finally forgiven in his heart and was consumed by the grace of God.

Since then, Andy is no longer stuck. He is now in his service time here serving the Lord with forgiveness in his heart which allows him to be completely open to the Lord. Isn’t that our God—The Ultimate Stain Remover! If you would like to be a part of this life changing ministry, please email Jamie@christiancarecenter.org
