Jamie Scher Teaches Relapse Prevention at our Women's Care Center

Relapse prevention strategies are vital for the ladies at the Women’s Care Center to learn and practice. They become aware of how to avoid or overcome triggers and what it means to have accountability. Jamie Scher teaches this weekly, and he comes with years of experience from a personal level.

Jamie was a resident at our Men’s Residence, where he developed a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, overcame his own addictions and developed a strong desire to help others conquer their strongholds. Combining his education in Biblical studies and seminary with his own recovery as a fifteen-year heroin addict, Jamie is successful in meeting the ladies right where they are. He knows what it’s like to come into a faith-based rehab as a nonbeliever, because he was that person. He can relate to the ladies based on his experiences and this enables him to better prepare them for the future, because he has traveled that same road.

Our relapse prevention class is one of many life-skill classes that the ladies have each week. If you would like to learn more about the Women’s Care Center and how you could partner with us either prayerfully or financially, contact Sherry Stewart, Director of our Women’s Care Center, at (352) 787-8929 for more information.
