One of the many services we offer at the Pregnancy & Family Care Center is to counsel women in crisis pregnancy. We recently had a woman come in who found herself pregnant, alone and scared. She was afraid of losing her job and didn't have any friends or family here to lean on. She came to the center seeking information about her options and was strongly set on having an abortion.
We are blessed to have a new Spanish-speaking volunteer, Marlene, who was able to talk with this woman and share the importance of choosing life. The mama ended up crying and decided that she wanted to choose life! Marlene was able to assist her in booking an appointment that same day for an ultrasound at one of our referral clinics to confirm pregnancy and give an accurate due date.
What a wonderful testament to God's ability to change hearts and lives, and we're so grateful at the Pregnancy & Family Care Center to be part of that. We've had a recent increase in Spanish-speaking clients, and we are blessed to have new volunteers like Marlene to translate. We've also added Spanish classes to our Earn-While-You-Learn online course list for clients to complete and then receive baby items using their earned hours.
